Ron, that is the point of the 100% subfile; my users don't type in 
anything. nada. nothing.    My users just slide the scroll bar and mouse 
click the item they want.  The record is selected and the default action 
takes place with the record.

I don't understand. It seems to me that how you search a database has 
nothing to do with how you write your subfile. Virtually all of my 
subfiles are page at a time and users key in however many (or few) 
characters in the search field as they deem necessary.
