  • Subject: RE: Workplace internet access(and the Great American (or other) Novel)

I have a PC at home. I use it, my daughter uses it, but my wife who has
been using CAD software at work for over 15 years never touches it. On the
other hand, I have a phone at home. My wife uses it, my daughter uses it,
but in spite of having to use one at work, I almost never use the one at
home. My wife doesn't think computers are fun; I don't like to use phones.
Matter of taste.

As far as great novels on the internet, there's a wealth of great literature
(public domain) available in both plain text and HTML. In the past couple
of years I've downloaded a couple of Shakespeare plays and an Icelandic
saga; my daughter has downloaded Aristotle's Poetics. Haven't seen anything
original yet, but that's going to change very soon. There are several
companies trying various methods of self (vanity?)publishing on the
internet.
