I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but if this is an interactive program,
have you tried using the figurative constant *USER from SDA?

Subject: Current User vs. Job Initiator

Anyone know if there is a value within an ILE RPG program that tells you who the current user is?   It appears the user id value in an ILE RPG's program data structure is the job initiator's user id.  It doesn't matter if the ILE RPG is created from modules or with CRTBNDRPG.

In an OPM RPG program the user id value is the current user's id.  Job initiator and current user are not necessarily the same.  So, I'm wondering if this is an ILE RPG oversight.
