         I think that sums it up, I want to thank everyone who has 
responded. I also had a look at the Midrange-l archives, and I there 
discovered that this is a common issue that comes up every now and then.

Personally, I will be taken the AS400 Technical Solutions and AS400 
programming certificates. Although many people have said that they are not 
very useful a few people have also said that it got them an interview, and 
then you can take it from there.
As many of you know in the consulting business you have to constantly keep 
selling yourself, and having the certifications **might** give me an edge 
over some other consultants the employer is reviewing.


So I will be hoping that the IBM Certificates along with my APICS 
Certificates and 7 years experience will be enough to let me chose where and 
for who I want to work for (I'm hoping Hawaii :-)
