Help needed to indentify what this IBM Client Server Software is for -- MIDRANGE-L

Hi,
I was given some IBM new Client Server Software because it is O/S2 based 

1 :Distributed Consule Access Facility (SBTPD707-00) 1996 10 disk boxed set
Q:anyone on this list knows what THIS is used for:

2: LAN Server Advanced CD rom box set Version 4.0 (SBTPD611-00)
Q: This the O/S2 equal to NT Server? and do I need O/S2 to install it?
