Either change the indicators to 10 itherwise unused indicators, or after each chain use 90 to condition a flag field for each file, like

   if   *IN90
  move   'No_'    Field1
  else
  move  'Yes'   Field1
  End

then fields 1 thru 10 will have yes/no answers for you.

Subject:        status of last chain to file

     Hi,

I have a program that has 10 files in it. All chain's use indicator 90
in the no record indicator. So how can i find out if a file i am going
to update had the record found on the last chain operation?
Thanks for any information on this.
