Except that 70% of that 85% would be running canned software.  And the canned 
software 
wouldn't use the system value because 5% of their potential client base might 
be running 
multiple companies whose year end fell at different dates.

Well, true, in that case you couldn't use the system value.  You would
have to take care of that in code.  But for the other 85% of companies,
it would most likely work.
