I had the same problem for my work-around procedures.  I finally ended up
using SetDatePart(), SetTimePart(), and SetTStampPart().  I guess INSERT
wouldn't be so bad as on opcode, since you could easily tell it wasn't an
SQL statement.  POKE is cute.....
