The usual question is 'What has changed?'
From what volume did the data from FROM into what volume is the data NOW?
Have you put anything new on your 400 like an OS upgrade or PTF's?
Are you running other jobs during this same time period?
Is there an object lock on the data that is holding the file? WRKOBJLCK and
F4 to prompt. You might have to use F6 for member locks.
Good luck.

Subject: AS400 and ODBC

Hello folks:

It has been a while for me to asking the list for help and please forgive me
if I ask the wrong questions or offend anybody.

Please allow me to refresh the list's memory about me. I am very, very new
with the AS/400. I did get a lot of tips from the list of where to start
with learning about the AS/400. I entered in the AS/400 world for almost a
year now, and have learn somewhat to get my job done. I am creating a
database using Microsoft product, automate and retrieve up-to-date data
directly from the AS/400 files through the use of ODBC linking. I am
somewhat successful in several small databases, BUT, I have the problem with
retrieving a big junk of record for the company database.

The volume of data is growing every day, so of course, eventually what
volumne I get for this week will be different than last week. But the past
week and the weeks before that, the retrieving process would take no longer
than 5 minutes, but today it takes hours and have not retrieve the
information out of the AS/400 yet. I used ODBC link to the AS/400 files,
then use PC queries to filter the data that I need and put it in a temp
files.

I am still somewhat a new comer to these territory. I am very grateful for
any advise, suggestions or tips to show me lights to my problems.

Greatly appreciated, Vuong.
