  • Subject: want to update a file three ways without using COMMIT to free record
  • From: Mary Koetting <Mary_Koetting@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I want to process a form that will have a person with many dependents. If
any part of the update fails, I want to 'rollback' all the records
pertaining to that form.

One of the files being updated has three sets of beginning and end
dates. There are logicals set up for each set of beg/end dates.

Is there any way I can unlock/update the record without coding a 'commit'
between the reading of these three logicals?

PS. It's too late to break them apart. They are used by alot of other
programs and this program is past due.

PSS. I really appreciate all the help I have received from this group and
feel rather guilty always being on the receiving end but maybe someday I'll
be able to help someone. Thanks again!
