1. SmallTalk is a great language, but did NOT catch on.

2. C++ ... hmmmmm ... and WHAT is your OS/400 written in???? I'd say C++ is
rather relevant.

3. Synon got lost in the CASE wars; the war waged by programmers -- out of
fear of losing their jobs -- against any automation of THEIR jobs.

4. If you aren't programming in -- or at least LEARNING -- an
Object-Oriented Language, you're not "old school" ... you're "old geezer".
Get with the times ... sheesh.

5. SQL IS THE way. If you're not using SQL ... well ... do you drive a '64
Rambler?

6. Thin Clients is another way of saying "Thick Network". It's still too
young to tell.

7. Bill Gates' fortune is none of our business.

8. No one said that. QUIT DEVELOPING in old RPG, move to ILE and move
forward.

Lead, follow or get out of the way.

Peace,

Wasn't JAVA brought to us by the same folks who said that:

1. Smalltalk was "the" language
2. C++ was "the" language
3. Synon would "rule" the world
4. Object Oriented Programming (OO)
5. SQL would be "the" way to fly on the 400
6. Thin Clients would impact PC sales right away...
7. Bill Gates ain't going to make more money..
8. We need to throw away our RPG programs and replace them with somthing
   more modern...
