Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

I know this alert is somewhat different from the usual stuff on the AS/400
but I figure everybody may want a heads-up.

Here it is:

August 26, 1999 "Xerox has reported a problem to Microsoft regarding the
Java Virtual Machine. According to the report, certain JVMs released by
Microsoft can allow a Java program to operate outside of the security
sandbox to perform almost any action on a remote user's computer.
Correcting the matter requires installation of a new JVM. To learn how to
determine your current JVM version, and where to get the updated version
along with all of Microsoft details about the matter, please visit the
following web site:"

http://www.ntsecurity.net/go/load.asp?iD=/security/jvm.htm

Basicall, in English, you could run into problems when searching a web site
with a "rogue applet" that does damage to your PC.
