We have a similar problem however, I cannot find the parameter that you
speak
of. We are on V3R2
We had some of our HP's that were having power brown outs causing the
printer to
hang. We solve that with some UPS attached to the printer and our Axis
printer
servers.

We also had a problem with large spooled files hanging (not printing) and
IBM told us to use the DESTOPT parameter on the CRTOUTQ command. They said
to put 'XAUTOQ' in there and that would fix it... and it did fix it. I'll
be darned if I remember what it does and why it fixed things though...
something about timing out and then starting all over again instead of
picking up where it left off. Anyway, like I said, if fixed the problem for
our TCP/IP connected Remote Outqueues.

Bruce/Cary

I beleieve I also had the same problems you described: Printers apparently
timing out or ending for no reason when trying to print a large spool file
over IP.

I am on release V4R4 and was able to download a PTF to fix this problem.

APAR MA20261 recommends the following PTF's to deal with an error where
"When printing large files using TCP/IP, the printing will not complete"

R410 MF21920
R420 MF22381
R430 MF22626
R440 MF22469

Hope this assists.

Cheers
Evan Harris
