  • Subject: Re: AS/400 Notes Domino 4.6.3 Mail question

hi ...

We use Domino on AS/400. Domino provides a "web-mail" option which
allows
you to send and receive mail using your web browser. The domino server
provides
a web browser interface to your mail files. After proper authorization
(userid, password) the mail user is presented presented with a "menu" of
options relating
to mail. The user also gets access to their calendar, meetings, etc. in
addition to
sending mail and opening incoming mail. Our staff like the fact they
can get access
to their mail, including filed mail, and calendars

Your AS/400 does have to be visible on the internet for this to work.
We chose this
solution because we did not want to get into the business of providing
dial-in access
for our mail users. We looked at the pop and imap options but felt this
approach
was better for our needs.

hth...
