Art,

I've never seen the inside of a 170. Are these trays like what I
thought were called disk cages in some models?

I have a couple of "cages" left over from adding some used 6606 drives
to my 40S, which uses the "rails". They are part # P86G7812, but
housed a 6606, not 6607.

When I needed rails, I asked for a price from a broker who had
previously told me he had lots more 6602 drives then he could ever
sell. They used the same rails.. He wanted $200 per set.

So I just took the rails from an existing drive to a machinist friend
of mine, and he made me sets from plastic stock.

If the "trays" are just simple parts, you may want to just have some
duplicated. Especially if you know any machinists.
