Rob,

I went and got the CDP (knocked down 4 of the 5 at first try without
cracking the book while working full time and taking night school) back in
the early 80's.

I had hoped it would mean something. You'ld be surprised how many times
I've had to explain to folks in the industry what CDP means....:)

I watched as the ICCP created moniker after monker, each replacing the
former, which I could get if I would send $40 (or whatever) to them...

As I look at other industries I have to look at the bean counters as being
the most recognized moninker. EVERYONE knows what a CPA is. I wish the
ICCP had lead that kind of quality testing/certification back
whenever...but they seemed more interested in created tests and the
certification dujour...

Frankly, I'ld welcome a certification of the calibre of the CPA with the
universal acceptance of the CPA.... This would also mean that there would
be decent training and prep for it as well.... (yes, I could have used
RN, LPN, MD, RT, CNA, CLT...or any other from the medical world as
well...)

...and my guess is that we agree on these points...:)
