Nice try, Hans, but the error related to the multi-member file does not
involve a parameter problem. The only parameter passed to the program is
one character in length and the calling program uses the same definition.
The program also does not used IMPORT/EXPORT.

We placed the program in debug mode and used the step function. Immediately
after the "WRITE" operation to the multi-member file, a "DELETE" operation
is done on the file used for input (defined as UF) and then a "READ" to get
the next record. It was on one of these operations the program crashed. I
think it was on the "READ".

We sometimes get reports of "mysterious" MCH3601 errors. They
are almost always caused by mismatched parameters between
called programs or by mismatched IMPORT/EXPORT. We have yet
to see a "mysterious" MCH3601 situation caused by a defect in
the ILE RPG compiler or run-time.

Cheers! Hans
