It depends.  It depends on whether or not you are using additional protection, 
such as RAID, mirroring or checksum.  We're using RAID on many of my machines.  
I've replaced drives during the day and the use had NO knowledge that a drive 
has been replaced.

But as to how to get the journals, I'd have to review the Backup and Recovery 
Guide.

Subject:        Journal ASP

In the light of "no stupid questions, just brain cell impaired inquiries".....

We journal all of our physical files.  We are creating a separate ASP 2
to hold the journals/receivers.  We are doing this in the event we lose
ASP 1 and can rebuild from the journals.  
My question is that if we lose ASP 1, don't we then lose the operating
system??  How do we get to ASP 2 to recover the journals??
