RE: Intermitant SMTP

I don't know if this fits for you or not, but I had a similar problem. It
turned out that I had "started" to put in Domino, then decided not to use it
and left it not started and not defined to the system. Something in the
install changed things though, and I had a lot of strange things happening,
including sending messages. I had to decide to finish setting up Domino and
use it, or do an un-install. I was at V4R2.
