Deb:
If your file contains no pack fields, use FTP if you are connected via
TCP/IP. on the PC, go to a DOS prompt, type FTP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (the IP
address of the AS400). You will be asked to log on, use your AS400 logon.
type CD lllllllllll where llllllll is the library name the file is stored.
type lcd \yourdirectory to change to the directory on the PC where you wish
the file to end up.
type GET ffffffff.mmmmmmmm pcfile.dat to get the file.member, it will be
called pcfile.dat on your PC.
If you wish to automate from the AS400, you can run an FTP server program on
the PC, create all the FTP subcommands in a file and have the AS400 FTP to
the PC. You can also check out TrailBlazer Systems (www.softwarejungle.com)
they have some products that may help.
