the short answer is yes...but you should checkout the Spotlight column in
AS400 magazine for a review of this product.  I'm not sure if it's out yet
or due in the next issue...I think it's already out...

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE MANUAL ABOUT THE 80BYTE CONSTRAINT.  This means
that if you're restoring a PF on the 400 that's more than 80 bytes,
everything from 81 to end of record is truncated and lost.  This is
supposed to be fixed in the fall release...

but yes, the idea of being able to zip/unzip on anyplatform is correct....
