HERE! HERE!

I was in a situation were a company wanted me to work on there payroll
system, but would not give me authority to the files I needed.  O.K. to
write the application from copies of the file structures, but without actual
data, it made it hard to test certain things that ended up blowing up in
production runs when unexpected data conditions came up.
I told them I don't care what anyone else makes, only that I am at (or at
least close) to market value.

Can we back up a minute here?

If you can trust someone enough to have complete, carte blanch access to
your AS/400 data files ... why can't you trust that same person to see the
payroll stuff?

I don't get it. Seems weird to me.
