I agree that venders do have lots of files that are transaction oriented.
When I find them I change them to REUSEDLT(*YES).  Saves from having to
rgzpfm regularly.

RGZPFM will do this. How do you know you don't have any of these (no offense
intended) ? Some 3rd party vendor's are REAL bad about letting you know
which
files they are CONSTANTLY deleting and adding records from/to. At my last
job, I
wrote programs to capture this info and found files with 5 active records
and
700,000 deleted ones, etc. !!!! Not to pick on 3rd party vendors - in-house
staff
can do this too but USUALLY there is some procedure in place to reorg files
like
this on a weekly basis and folks know to update this CL...
