  • Subject: FTP to As400 via a script on an IBM VSE System

We have an AS400 with an IP Address & FTP (of Course). We also have
an IBM VSE System which we recently loaded the software TCP/IP for the VSE.
Now that our VSE system has an IP Address we can send files to the AS400 via
FTP, we want to automate this process. I need to created a script to run on
the VSE that accomplishes the following:
* Lock the Data collection File on the VSE
* Send the file to the AS400 via FTP
* Call a CL Program on the AS400 that will process the Data Collection
File as needed.
* unlock the Data Collection File on the VSE

We would probably be processing this at night for the time being. I have
entered the manual commands under FTP from the AS400 to do the "GET", but I
really need some help in setting up a script on the VSE System which will do
the "PUT". One last question, will a CICS environment on the AS/400 help me
in any way?

Thanks,
Lynn P. DiRosa
