We have 19 AS/400's, 9 of them onsite. We have around 800 real, seperate,
users. We have around 600 PC's. Our department consists of the following: VP
of IS - Very proficient at Performance Tools
Me - AS/400 specialist. Set up downtime tasks, schedule others to do so. Backup
Operator, programming, Notes-400 integration, FTP, other esoteric duties
Operator - Changes tape on local machines, monitors backups, Bulk of AS/400, NT,
and Notes security. AS/400 system analysts - 5
AS/400 developers - 5
Notes developer - 1
Analysts/trainers - 2
Help Desk - 3
clerk - 1
PC, and network, technicians - 7
At the remote sites a receptionist or clerk changes the tapes.
The analysts, or local expert users, handle the BPCS security.

I currently have 14 AS/400 Model 170 Servers with 1100 users. I need to know
how many SA's I should budget to support these AS/400's. Does anyone know of a
model or any other method to figure out the number of support people that I
need?
