We also have a 3490 and have found it to be easy to use and
very reliable. We have had it for approx. 1 year and use it quite often.

                        > I have been charged with looking into the
possibility of purchasing a 3480 or 3490 tape drive for our AS/400 model
620. It has to be one of these models (or one that uses the very same
cartridges in the very same format) as we exchange tapes with a couple of
customers who use the 3480. Has anyone on the list had experience with these
models or with like models from other companies? Were they reliable?

we have a brand x 3480/90/90e tape drive that we've
had for 2 years
now. we had a time getting it to work at first, but
it has worked fine
                        since.

i'm at home and cant remember the name of the
company that made it, but
                        it's from colorado.
