Why not apply the PTF's & perform the required IPL prior to the upgrade?

I think this has been talked about before, so I am sorry if it is
redundant.

We are upgrading to V4R3 this weekend and we have a fairly
tight window.  Is it required that we apply all of the PTFs
permanently before hand?  That would save us about an
hour for the upgrade.
