  • Subject: Model 200 problem--how do I get out of trouble?

Hi all,

I have just obtained my 9402-model 200--slight problem is that I have no
idea how to
get to manual mode and do a powerdown from the AS/400 panel.
how did I get myself in this sorry state.

1:attached good working 3197 terminal set at address 0(tested just before
on my trusty E20) into port0 of model 200--made sure of 01 B N(for normal)
on AS/400 panel and powered on--when terminal changed from 1/80 to 1/2 with
system status light bottom left hand corner;
I assumed all ok-since this is usual during a IPL--went away for 40 min.
Upon arrival noticed no signon screen-terminal still at 1/2 and system
status light on,
AS/400 panel shows normal 01 B so I assume must of IPLed OK.
Retested 3197 terminal on my E20-all OK and put back into model 200-no
change.

Q1:Any clues as to what is going on?

Q2:I need to go to manual mode and hit the powerdown button--no idea how to
get there--the model200 does not take a key like the E20-it has a uparrow
button, down arrow button and a enterkey?

Q3:Aboubt 12months ago I found a usermanual for the model 200 on IBMs
site--cant remember how I got there--any clues?

thanks in advance

Dave B
