Sounds like an interesting exercise.

For UIM-related APIs, you would need to look in the System API Reference -
OS/40 User Interface APIs manual (SC41-5876-02). I'm pretty sure there's a
print API. I believe I used it about four or five years ago, so cannot
advise further.
