I've tried messing around with the OVRDBF and I was never able to get it to 
come 
close to matching the efficiency of the cycle.  Still a couple hours difference 
in 
run time.  Besides, might not your blocking factor change every time a file 
layout 
change occurs?  One more thing to look for when you upgrade vendor software.

Isn't one of the parameters in OVRDBF to handle blocking?  Wouldn't a CL
wrapper with such overrides let  the do-it-yourself program match blocking
advantage with The Cycle?
