     It's been so long, but it seems to me you didn't need line 3. File 
     update is part of the cycle on UP isn't it? That would allow you to 
     reduce your code by 33%..... :)

I love doing this with small one time use programs.  It's fun trying
to see how few lines of code I can get by with.  One time I had a
three line program.  One F spec for the primary file opened for
update, a C spec to plug a value into a field, and a C spec for the
update.  Does anyone remember the old game show "Name That Tune"?
"I can write that program with 4 lines!"
