Hello John,

I believe they are still attempting to phase out the AS/400s. An issue of the
Data Warehouse Institute
Journal (about April or May '98 -- I can't find the issue at present) had an
article written by an MS staffer
about their (MS) efforts to implement SAP on NT. They've been trying since
sometime in '95 and the project is
still going. The intent is to replace their 'legacy' systems -- no mention
that these are AS/400s (although
MS used to be one of the largest MVS shops too).

I know SAP is a Big-5 consulting dream. It takes forever to implement and SAP
projects swallow bodies like
nothing else but four years and little to show for it seems excessive.

If MS can't get their business running on NT what hope have other companies?
Of course, MS own failure won't
stop them promoting NT for everyone.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
