Have you looked at the Advanced Businesslink product?   It
seems to me like it was almost custom made for this type of
problem.  They do secure spool file handling very well, and
can integrate with existing apps without a need to change
them.  Sorry, I don't remember the URL, but they advertise
in all the major trade mags.
