  • Subject: AFP spooled files

I received a request the other day to create a copy of a spool file with
overlays and/or page segments and sent to an outside vendor for printing. The
vendor uses NT. An attempt to use the spool API's did not produce a readable
file for the NT. The vendor on the NT system says that they can read AFP.
The individual requesting the concept does not want to just send the raw spool
output and have the vendor redesign on the NT to format the AFP piece (he
already did a lot of work and does not want to have to spend the money
reinventing that wheel).
