Problem with Netscape Communicator 4.5 and IBM's Digital Certificate
Manager.

Attempting to utilize OS/400's 4.3 Digital Certificate Manager to set up
*ADMIN on default ports 2001 and 2010 (SSL) for intranet use, i.e. the
AS400 will issue it's own certificate for intranet use.

No problem with MS Internet Explorer (4.0), but having major problem
with Netscape Communicator (4.5).

Able to create Certificate Authority and install same on PC. But unable
to request a new client certificate and register same. When Netscape
attempts to reconnect to port 2010 (the SSL port) for the final
registration phase, it "blows up" and shuts itself down, i.e.
https//www.company.com:2010/ .

Any ideas.

Couldn't find anything on Netscape's home page, nor IBM's. Can't
understand why MS IE works and Netscape doesn't.

I didn't attempt to use Digital Certificate Manager via the MS IE
browser until I finally gave up on Netscape's browser.

Note: we also have I-Net's Commerce Server/400 install with Verisign's
SSL Certificate manager, but that is on the normal default ports 80 and
443 (SSL). I don't see where this would be a problem.

Thanks all.
