The ugly news to question 2 is that you have to output the log to a physical
file and then read it ti determine if the transfer was sucessful.  Not very
graceful.  Trailblazer Systems and I believe Towsend Software both have
products that allow you to put logic (CL like) into an FTP script.  You may
wish to check with them, they both subscribe to this list server.
