  • Subject: LPR on the AS/400, LPD on WinNT workstation

I am trying to configure a remote output queue on my V3R7 AS/400 that
references a printer on a WinNT workstation v4.0 service pack 3
machine. Its not working. Nobody (AS/400 or WinNT) is complaining
about anything or sending any messages. But the spool files are not
moving either.

I do have a similar setup working but it is not using the WinNT LPD
server...it is using RPM's LPD server and is on a different machine.

I have also tried using SNDTCPSPLF to no avail.

This is the command I used: SNDTCPSPLF RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) PRTQ(HP6L)
FILE(QSYSPRT) SPLNBR(*LAST) TRANSFORM(*NO) MFRTYPMDL(*HP5)
INTNETADR('10.1.1.210')

There are no connectivity issues and no firewalls or anything like
that in between the 2 systems.

On the WinNT system, The TCP/IP Print Server service has been started
and I do have a printer defined as HP6L
