Roger,
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to recreate the device.

This is the config from my V4R2 machine:

DEVD   QESPAP
Catagory   *APPC
RMTLOCNAME   EBCACIDD
Online   *NO
LCLLOCNAME   *NETATR
RMTNETID   *NETATR
CTL   QESCTL
MSGQ   QSYSOPR
LOCADR   02
APPN   *NO
Single session capable   *YES
Number of conversations   10
Locally controlled session   *NO
Secure location    *NO
Mode   *BLANK

Object owner for the descriptor is QSYS     .

Hope this helps.

Subject: QESPAP description

Help! I fat-fingered away the QESPAP device description and now can't connect to ECS. The Local Device Config manual implies the description has been put there by a higher power and provides no instructions for replacing it! Anyone know where to steer me?

Thanks,
rp
