Exactly Dave.  Newsgroups and email is designed for this stuff.  I have
only a 33.6 modem at work.  I get easily 150 headers in 5 seconds or
less.  When clicking on a particular header to see that message, it's
_very_ rarely that I don't see that message in subsecond time.

And this doesn't take into account the management of those messages,
such as keeping, discarding, forwarding, etc.
