 To answer the question directly, you can monitor for the error in the CLP.
 The action you take is then up to you.  Some suggestions are to put a wait
into the ALCOBJ, so it will time out only after xx number of seconds.  You
can loop and retry (probably w/ a counter so it doesn't loop forever.)  You
can send a user msg which would allow the user to select what option they
want.  You can just send a pgm msg and end.

 The indirect question to think about is why the object is being allocated
exclusively.  Maybe using file members is one solution to the lock problem.
 You can merge them at a later time.
