We went throug the same thing, and decided it was not worth it.  There was
no real benefit.  I fact, in some cases it was worse.  We are in the process
of putting the tools together to re-write the front in with Java using the
400's java tool kit to call RPG programs on the server (the 400).

It takes more time, but the benefit is much better.
