Hello all:

I am seeking the considered opinion of this list, re this situation:

I work ( part-time at) at a vocational school, where we teach computer
programming
(intro - basic - c - cobol, etc).

I proposed to add RPG /400 and IV to our current syllabus - idea well
received. I
even proposed a small (used) 400 to be used for RPG, using existing PCs as
workstations.

But:

The President (owner) consulted with one of his friends , who just happens
to be an
IBM bussiness partner - and this guy suggested (and quoted) a machine for over
$ 50,000, and this figure is just murdering my project.

In the opinon of all you Sages, what would be the really minimum
configuration to
propose and fight for ?

Thanks to all of you

EndreE
