Bob,

I know of FAX/401, and have used it on another project. This is one of
the products that we are looking at currently.
We would however prefer (maybe this is just me :)) to keep most of the
function on the 400 without a seperate PC/Server.

Thanks for the response though and since I am acting as middle for
this question, dont be surprised if you get a call/Email from Lori.

 <<RE: Fax and Email solutions>>

Howard,

First, the disclaimer: I work for Cornerstone Communications,
Developer & Marketer of Fax Server/401.

Take a look at Fax Server/401 (http://www.faxserver401.com ). It
handles inbound & outbound faxing. From Cobol, RPG, or any other
language that can produce a spool file.

Currently, we do not handle email, but stay tunned. That will be
changing.

For marketing information, contact Lana Hume at 317-873-1550 Ext 105
or email her at lhume@cstoneindy.com .

Any technical questions you might have, I can handle. The list would
probably appreciate it if this was done via private Email. My address

is bob@cstoneindy.com or 317-873-1550 Ext 103.

Regards,
Bob Crothers

We are looking to fill some requirements for a project that requires
Email and Fax capibilities. One criteria is that both solutions be
accessable from a running program on the AS/400 (preferrably COBOL or
CL, not allowed to use RPG) at least on the outbound side, we may have
some problems with security on the inbound side. {Federal Govt. "We
already have an Email system, we dont need additional security
risks.....} you get the picture. :)

Anyone have any suggestions on either using the AS/400 Capabilities
(640E) or third party solutions?
