I wouldn't say that no one does.  I know several shops that have to monitor 
before and after images for user controls.

well, great minds think alike.   i usually keep them the same unless there 
is a compelling reason to have them different.  but we do have some 
programs written with separate names, and everytime you make a change, you 
need to go into the moves and make sure you don't miss anything.  i think 
they were done that way to print changes before and after.  but now
no one even prints out the change edits anymore...
