Usually.  Unless the drive crash that killed your system was
the load source, then you'll need your MULIC/FULIC to
recover.   In these days of mirrorred internals that's
pretty rare, but I'ver had it happen in the past.


Experience <g> reminds me that you need to have your MULIC
tape that's compatable with your alt IPL device.  It isn't
helpful if it's on round reel and your alt IPL drive is 8mm.

And finally, you can create a backup of the MULIC tape with
a duptap... not a bad idea for nay shop that has ever
experienced a tape failure.
