You should try and attend a John Sears seminar.  He talks about performance and 
how
to improve it.  There could be BIG differences.

I don't have my session handouts handy but if I remember, you need to calculate 
the
proper number of records to block by dividing the memory size allocated by the
record size.  Sorry, I don't know what the memory size is anymore.
