I remember some good discussions also.  When I started here we had eleven 
S/36's.  Not one of them was connected
to the other.  Some were in the same room.  If system x wanted a terminal in 
city z and city z already had a S/36 they put
a 5294 controller on top of system z and had it attached to system x.  At Cuds 
I layed out our whole network on a napkin
with a lady from IBM.  It was a slow gradual shift getting everything connected 
at a real cheap price.  Now we have 18
AS/400's, no S/36's, T1 lines, frame relays, and routers up the wazoo.

Thought the spelling  changed few   sessions  back to CUD$
and so did  the  size of the group in the evenings. I use to have a lot of
good  discussions there before the  crowds went away.
