Dave,

I would be willing to look at your code if can send me:

1.  a copy of the RPG program
2.  a sample CP 37 1 record input file (in hex)
3.  a sample CP 819 1 record input file (in hex)
4.  a hex listing of the resulting CP 819 2 record file

Your general approach should work (in my personal opinion) and I would
like to investigate a bit further.
