That worked fine. Have you ever had the menu options fields instead of
literals? That way the menu can be loaded dynamically within the program.
The book says you can do it with fields &field defined as a "P" DDS usage,
and it compiles, but when the RPG program fills the field and writes the
format, the field is blank. There must be a keyword wrong/missing or the
sequence in the programs is wrong (although it's pretty simple).

Any ideas?

thanks,

john

I have done literraly hundreds of those. Make sure that you have a record
format with the keyword ASSUME in your DSPF. You dont need to ever write it.
I will gladly give you more informations if you tell me more detail about
your problem.

Has anyone tried to have a screen (like a window) that overlays the existing
screen leaving the underlying screen there, but making the new screen active
on the display? I have tied the typical keywords used in windows, but they
don't work (compile fails).
