One other possibility, not involving separate server, IPCS, or Client Access is
IBM's NetServer 400. It allows you to set up 'Shares' on your 400 similar to
setting up shares on an NT server. Clients using these shares do not need
Client Access. IBM's recommended method for setting this up on your 400 is to
use Operations Navigator. While Client Access is not required for usage it is
required on the PC doing the setup using Operations Navigator.

Another possibility is to use SNA server from Microsoft and still retain your
data on the 400. But that goes into the separate NT server realm. We've used
this. We're moving to NetServer now. It's like having SNA server without the
NT.

I am kind of curious as to what kind of data you are serving. If multiple
people are using it, is it database type data that should be stored in a
database instead of a spreadsheet or something; or is it read only type data
that has been formatted to meet the groups needs?
